Excel – How to use the Ideas function
The ideas function within Excel kicks in the AI to analyse your data table and then suggest some graphs, pivots etc that you may wish to insert into your Excel based on that data.
The more powerful side of the function is “Ask a question” – with this you can type in a plain English question about the data and the answer will be returned along with a suggestion for displaying that.
The video below walks you through how to use this function based on a table of sales invoices and shows entering questions like “What are the top 3 customers per year” etc

How do I get this?
If you get your Excel via Office 365 then a future automatic update will bring this function if you don’t have it available already
